<<<<Nokia AB

.........i don't own nokia, but i did at one time

...they are a great company--but don't forget that you have ericcson, motorola, qualcomm, sony, samsung etc. all selling phones and they are low margin.

.......ericcson has the most infrastructure from what i have heard.

.......but imho the best value is to load up on more lucent when it goes below 80. i bought this last round at 77-78 and want more--sorry.

......we should see bargains in 3com, ifmx, amat, etc. i will stay away from all chips except intel--the world leader (wait till merced hits!)

.......the ddrive makers are too rocky for my taste--but 3com may be below 30 and lucent in mid 70's--time to buy.

.......where they will be in 3 months no one knows--but we know where they will be in 3 years--much higher!

LU down more than 3 1/2 points on more than twice the normal volume. I'm not sure as to why, initially, I thought it was linked to the NOK.A/ERICY problems, but none of the other telecom stocks (including those two) are down nearly as much as LU. It may be possible that some negative comments have come out of the Smith Barney Telecom Conference about LU. I'm just guessing, so if anyone has heard any other reason to justify the sharp drop, I'd appreciate the info.

Thanks,

Serry
