Look, I am just going by what scientists in the field have concluded. Their consensus is that CO2 buildup in the atmosphere resulted in high global temps. which caused those extinctions.

Again, the CO2 trailing the rise in temperatures have to do with changes that freed carbon sequestered in various sinks like bogs and tundra. And that caused an amplification of the warming trend. That is all pretty basic science.
