Well, Murphy's proposals won't be accepted by the Reps, at least not this incarnation. His policy proposals, which, to my mind, are exactly right, are, as we all know, anathema to the present, very strong, base of the party. I don't see them giving up on them lightly; only after a couple of severe national political losses and much more evidence that the demographics are moving against them. I gather most of the leading Rep voices are pointing to failure in the Romney campaign, some tweaking, and/or going more conservative as ways out around this problem. Those paths will have to be discredited.
