Actually businessmen in the boarder states brought immigrants here to work as cheap labor in the past 100 years... you don't now much about your history do you?? Before that they came to the coasts... grow up and study your history... or move down here for a while.

I may not have been clear. I wrote about two brothers who left Italy for Argentina about 1920. At that time future prospects in Argentina looked bright, perhaps more so than here.

Their brother came here instead about concurrently, did better. He was the type of immigrant who earned everything he got.

I was trying to show an example to someone with inadequate capacity that countries can go south. Given our current glide path, it may take luck for the Americans of 2020 to get off as easy as Argentinians did from Peron on.
