Yes, Lawrence, there is a photograph of Zimmerman’s bloody nose

by William A. Jacobson Monday, December 3, 2012
http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/12/yes-lawrence-there-is-a-photograph-of-zimmermans-bloody-nose/

Remember when ABC obtained a police station surveillance tape which supposedly showed no injuries to George Zimmerman, thereby allegedly disproving his claim that he was being beaten when he shot Trayvon Martin?

The Martin family lawyer along with plenty of left-wing blogs (including a once-famous photo analyst) used that video to proclaim Zimmerman’s guilt.

Among those leading the charge against Zimmerman was a totally out of control Lawrence O’Donnell, furious that Zimmerman’s lawyer at the time refused to sit for an abuse session with O’Donnell:

Subsequent to that, additional photos and medical evidence were released showing that Zimmerman was injured in ways which backed up his account.

And just today a photo was released of the bloody nose.

This should give pause to those who jumped to conclusions.

State Dept Spent 4.5 Million for Embassy Art, Had No Money for Benghazi Security

FRONTPAGEMAG ^ | December 2, 2012 | Daniel Greenfield

Remember Benghazi only happened because the State Department had no money for by Text-Enhance">security. And the military had no money for planes. And Obama had no money for his campaign and had to rush to Vegas to fundraise with Beyonce.

Things that the State Department did have money for? Mosque renovations, promoting environmental awareness in Baghdad, and 4.5 million for Art in Embassies.

The New York Times reported in 2009 that Art in Embassies spends about $4.5 million a year for permanent art acquisitions; chief curator Virginia Shore said at the time that artists and by Text-Enhance">dealers support the program via favorable pricing; for the embassy in Beijing, an outlay of $800,000 yielded works with an appraised value of $30 million.

On Friday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will give the U.S. State Department Medal of Arts to five artists who have shown “an enduring commitment” to the effort: by Text-Enhance">Jeff Koons, Cai Guo-Qiang, Shahazia Sikander, Kiki Smith and Carrie Mae Weems.

It’s the first time the award has been given – and its future will likely depend on whether Clinton’s successors want to make it a tradition.

Let’s make it a tradition. Even if we have to strip security from all our embassies in war zones.

There is of course a certain irony in that Clinton ordered the arrest and imprisonment of the Mohammed filmmaker, but is now honoring “controversial” artists who may offend Christianity, but don’t offend Islam.

Like every regime, the Obama regime has artists that it honors and artists that it imprisons. And the artists that it hands out medals too, like their Soviet counterparts, are delegitimized by their placement as the pet artists of a repressive regime.

Kiki Smith, one of the artists honored by Secretary of State Clinton, offended Catholics with pieces such as, “Virgin Mary,” a female figure stripped of her skin, with her tissues and muscles exposed. Another exhibit features by Text-Enhance">Mary Magdalene growing fur on her body.

If Kiki Smith had depicted Mohammed that way, she would be in hiding and maybe in prison, depending on how many embassies Muslims burned afterward.

But since she depicted a religion that Obama and his cronies hate, she’s getting her art placed in embassies and getting a medal instead. That is how things work in repressive regimes.

And just as a reminder that this isn’t art, it’s regime propaganda, here’s one of the “paintings” from the Art in Embassies exhibit in Stockholm. “ Paul Rusconi, Barack Obama, 2008.” Sold for $20,000. You can see it up above. The new symbol of America.

But I offer my own “artistic” take on Rusconi’s piece. One that might be better representative of what America under Obama truly stands for.

Lawyer for George Zimmerman 'frustrated' at prosecutors' withholding of graphic photo

By Perry Chiaramonte December 03, 2012

Image of bloodied Zimmerman on night of Trayvon...The attorney for George Zimmerman said he is "frustrated" that prosecutors withheld a color photo of the Florida gunman that could bolster his case that Zimmerman was being beaten when he shot Trayvon Martin. The graphic photo of Zimmerman, taken the night of his fateful confrontation with Florida teen Trayvon Martin, shows the accused murderer with a bloody face. Zimmerman’s legal team released the photo, which was taken by police, after prosecutors substituted it in for a black and white photocopy that had been submitted earlier.

"I get frustrated when certain evidence gets out and other evidence is withheld," said Mark O'Mara, attorney for Zimmerman, 29, who faces murder charges in the Feb. 26 death of Martin, 17. "The photo is not a game-changer, but it is significant.

"If I had had that picture in my hand on April 11 ...," he said, referring to the date when Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder.

Florida rules governing discovery require that original photos be submitted, but O'Mara says that the discovery phase has been rife with issues.

"It just seems like it's been pulling teeth for discovery in this case," he said. "This case is the opposite of any I've normally taken. Usually, discovery is dumped on your desk, because it's normally good for [the prosecution]. They usually try to shove it down your throat."

Zimmerman’s lawyers said the photocopy of the image was provided by the prosecutors in the first round of discovery. The high-resolution digital file was finally provided to the defense on Oct. 29, and defense attorneys have said they will make all public documents related to the case available on their website.

Prosecutors had asked for the gag order, claiming a website and social media used by Zimmerman's attorney could influence potential jurors in the racially charged case.

Other experts questioned the withholding of the photo.

"This borders on prosecutorial misconduct," David Wohl, a criminal attorney and legal analyst said Tuesday during an interview on Fox News Channel.

On Monday, Zimmerman's defense team publicly released a motion, filed the same day, asking for the additional deposition of one of the lead investigators due to information that surfaced during his original interview on Nov. 19th.

Requests for comment to special prosecutor Angela Corey's office were not immediately returned.
