Yes Paul I saw that news about COMS and it is not looking good in general for networkers.
Somehow I think we are going to get many more warnings in the next 10 days from the Asian debacle although the market seems to have brushed it off.
ASND could start a downward path here, and I think it is in their best interest to warn if they see any chance that they will not meet estimates because they will be hit anyways and may not have much additional value to lose.
Tomorrow may be a blind short day for networkers.

3COM blames inventory restructuring .. "to result in a slight profit for the quarter"

Read it yourself ...

biz.yahoo.com

And what impact on ASND? If it is truly due to inventory and NOT due to soft demand .. nah ..

<<M. Coms just warned of slight profitable quarter to be reported
on Dec. 19, it is not good for ASND, probably their earning is
disappointing too.>>

I have not read the warning, yet (and won't be able to
until late tonight), but I saw on the thread somewhere that COMS gets
35% of it's revenue from modems (someone please confirm). If so, then
it follows that the recent reversal of fortunes of X2 will turn out to
be a major contributor to their flat quarter and warning.

Except for RAS, COMS and ASND are in different market segments and on
opposite sides of 56K. How anyone can imply that ASND might have a
bad qtr just because COMS warned is beyond me and shows a lack of
understanding of this sector - which sadly, means most of the market.

I'll comment again when I get home later and have had time to read the
warning and other posts.
