I'm very bothered by this attempt to rip, Steve. I consider him a treasured member of this group. As is quite evident, he and I disagree on more than a few things. But we have managed to do so civilly. Surely we can be civil with one another.

<<<<and yet you are allowed to incessantly criticize Krugman, who most here agree with to some extent>>>>

And again you prove my point. This thread agrees with Krugman even though he wanted a stimulus plan three times as big as Obama's. If that isn't extreme - nothing political is! .........Now Krugman suggest that Obama go off the political cliff rather than compromise. I'm guessing there isn't 10% of the country that agrees with that position.

What is especially weird though is that the people here accept Krugmans game plan without question. Krugman hyped housing during the beginning of the bubble and then when it exploded, he encouraged the above mentioned stimulus plan saying our country was doomed if we didn't get it. BUT our economy didn't follow the promised Krugman path did it? Krugman also suggested European Union was going down - certainly Greece would have to pull out. Didn't happen either! Now Krugman suggest we go over the political cliff ..........BUT WAIT! That means that the anti-keynesian consequence is that money will be withdrawn from the economy (because we will all have to pay higher taxes). While the man is truly an enigma, he certainly does NOT represent anything other than the extreme left - way left of Obama.
