An excellent analogy of what moves the markets.

China is a worry for the global economy since their GDP has dropped by 66% over the last two years. Also because they have an energy shortage which explains their renewed interest and threats about who owns those tiny islands near Japan. Those islands happen to contain rich methane deposits so I won't be surprised to see the US and possibly Europe engage China along with Japan. That will jitter the markets.

With all of that said I agree with your thinking, however in my case I have found that sticking with what I see on the daily charts as markets cycle is a more profitable way to be on the right side of a trade. I tend to swing trade more than day trade like I use to do.
