Dr. No,

I just used Comboxfix on this machine a few days ago and had no problem. It found a bunch of stuff that Malwarebytes and Avast couldn't find. I've also used it a number of times in the past. That said, it was probably a bit dangerous doing that. I would have not used it if the queues weren't so long on the expert virus buster sites. I just checked out my favorite, bleepingcomputer.com, and it seems that they've beefed up things and you no longer wait seven to ten days. In fact, it looks like same day replies now, which is great. These guys rarely get stumped. And it's free(although they say you can make a contribution). I'd post your problem here:

bleepingcomputer.com

In the meantime, you might run this program that you can download from that site:

bleepingcomputer.com

That almost certainly will not be strong enough medicine but I wouldn't be surprised if it caught some minor bad actors lurking in your computer.

You could also try what is probably the best online virus scanner:

eset.com

That one takes a long time(4 hours here just the other night)but unlike the other online scanners it will try to kill or quarantine the malware rather than just telling you that you are screwed(and that you'd better buy their software). ;)

Good luck!
