Anybody out there want to tell me how 3com's decision to change their inventory model to reduce inventory levels in the channel(from 8-12 wks to 5-7 wks on systems) might affect Bay? Other than a cold bath freezing the whole networking sector, is there any reason to believe Bay will fall further tomorrow on this news that broke after the bell? Both Cabletron's and 3com's news of slower sales this quarter seem to be company-specific, unless someone at Bay wants to clue us in? Also, C. Schwab shows last trade for Bay at $27, but bid/ask was $27 3/8-5/8. Sounds like someone got a bargain at the close as news of a 3Com halt coming panicked folks without any specifics. Still could use some reassurances from House, except with a full month to go, he could really put his foot in it if end of quarter sales slow down like they did last quarter(Sept). Any predictions for tomorrow?
