You might as well ask what does the Sun have to do with it as well, the answer is -->everything, its what makes the planet earth -->not a closed entropic system. Put on your thinking cap, start from the vast primoridial systems & work up, down to finer more complex systems like earth which is many systems overlapping , what is going on in a Nebula is of a far different order than what is going on here , that is just a more ancient beginning. And btw, the Earth is plenty large enough with its vast oceans , changing land masses & atmosphere to have an incredible amount of chemical joinings going on and they are not random.
