The unemployment number is really a hoax, and here's why

You know that, I know that, and most smart people know it..

But the market is looking for good news and the BSL.. errr.. BLS.. gave it to them..

However, even if they found technical reasons not to include job losses from Sandy, it's very possible that in the aftermath, there may actually be INCREASED job gains next month from rebuilding efforts.

So it's possible that they manipulated the data this month recognizing that there should be increased employment, even if temporary, in coming months..

Those not looking for work should not be counted in the UnEmployment numbers.
If one was to argue that those who give up looking for work should be counted than one should also count all those who retired as well.
The point being, if you choose not to look for work than one must assume you do not need or want to work.

I wonder though , how many who do work do so 'off the books' ?
