Hello Dwight...I am no market maker. If I was, I would be down on the floor where the real action is.

Getting filled on that 1000 shares at $8 1/2 was partially luck (at least as of yesterday...today, I wish I had never got filled with the stock trading at $8 1/4).

Whilst it is true that hardly anyone gets filled on the bid price on the Nasdaq, my broker chipped in some from his side and gave it to me at $8 1/2. The reason ? It seems like the firm I deal with screwed up my order(s). All three orders I have in place were put in on different days with different conditions.
They deleted by mistake the order at $8 1/2 and assigned it to $8 1/8
without my knowing...until yesterday. Anyway, to make a long story short, they screwed up and filled me upon my demand.

They did not lose much as they have made thousands from my frequent trades over the past few years.

1000 at $8 1/2 is what I hold. Another 1000 at $8 1/8 and 1000 at $7 1/2 to go. Then I am dumping this mother of all s*it at $10 - $11. The point is I just have to be in NOVL. Must be Joe's influence and my expectations that he will one day barge into his chiefs office and ask "When the hell are you people taking over NOVL? My buddy up North can not migrate to Florida until NOVL is no more."
