Charlie, your post on Dec.2 indicates that TI acknowledged
that the Asian currency problem is a short-lived one (2-3 months),
but after reading up on the global impact of the devaluations
going on worldwide, I am concerned less about chip pricing
than the ability of a person being able to afford to buy
a computer. It appears that the wealth created by the markets
are now being eroded by the devaluations. How do cpq, dell gate,
et al expect to maintain their growth if the world economy is
being cut by 25-30%.

I have been an avid investor since the early nineties and
have always felt that the cash flow from mutual funds would
not cease coming into the market until the boomers felt
that their secure nest egg was achieved. This is different.
I sold off most of my position in equity yesterday and
protected with puts any stock(including Ti) that I felt could
withstand the overall downturn. Ti has already had a significant
correction, but I still think they could be dragged down with
the overall sympathy overhanging the market.

I really don't like the feel of the current conditions and
for the first time in my investment career bought outright
puts on a stock(cci). Their exposure in S/E asia is 40%
and if their earnings miss the mark, watch out.

Sorry for the rambling but I think your posts are informative
and want to know if your take on market conditions have changed
in the last few weeks.

Regards,

Bruce
