"Socialism is a creeping thing." So is capitalism. We are well on our way to a private for-profit military and public transportation system.

Maybe the creepers will balance out. Off The Cliff might just take the profit out of "Showers For Soldiers", as they become "Showers by Seabees".

"Additionally, we have the world's largest welfare state, with 48 million people on food stamps"

I wonder why. You'd think the Waltons would step up and deal with the problem. Maybe you should advocate for a living wage, one high enuf that the worker actually makes enuf to not only feed his/her family unassisted, but with enuf money left over to be able to pay income tax.

"Today the Walton family of Walmart own more wealth than the bottom 40 percent of America."

They both work in the fast-food industry — Mr. Carrillo at a McDonald’s in Midtown Manhattan and Mr. Williams at a Wendy’s in Brooklyn. They both earn a little more than $7 an hour. And they both need food stamps to survive. Last Thursday, both did something they had never done before: they went on strike.

"We already have the world's historically largest socialist program: Social Security and Medicare (OASI),"

if you omit every other developed nation in the world. Most people would put Canada, England, France, Benelux, Scandinavianstan, Israel, Switzerland, Japan, etc ahead of us. All those countries start their Medicare in the uterus. You haven't got a clue about what you spout; not a clue
