"What I have just done is explained why the irresponsible people who live large should not expect to get help from the responsible people"

Those irresponsible people have been responsibly paying into SS and MC for their entire lives. If that's all they have, they just won't continue to live large. Unless they get so little from SS that they qualify for foodstamps, or they need heating assistance, they won't be getting any help from you, so don't fret about it.

They live well early, and modestly later; you live modestly early, and hopefully well later.

"Why is it fair for someone who drove a porsche his whole life by spending everything they earned to live off of me, who drives a Honda so I can save for retirement?" Cuz you can live well in retirement, which is the best revenge.
Also, there will come a day when they see you get in your Honda, as they take their bikes out of the garage, and they will say, "I guess we blew it. Lucky Dawg."

<<No, it's the opposite, koan. What I have just done is explained why the irresponsible people who live large should not expect to get help from the responsible people. How is that fair? I have a large nest egg, because I scrimped and saved all my life. Why is it fair for someone who drove a porsche his whole life by spending everything they earned to live off of me, who drives a Honda so I can save for retirement?>>

Because most of them are not irresponsible, and the health and welfare of society comes before your feelings.
