So they get BOTH SS and this FERS? That sounds like a racket. More looting by the top 1%. They vote themselves more loot at our expense. Is this the kind of welfare state you want?

SS is a part of FERS;. Just like the private sector... I had SS and I had a 401K, with contributions from my employer. They have SS and they have a plan they contribute to.
Used to be "everybody" had defined pension plans... union pensions, etc. If you would like them to pass a law requiring all employers to provide them, I'll be the first to sign your petition.
