All these numbers can very easily be derived from the military budget. It won't make a dent in the nation's security and at the same maintain the quality of life here. We elect those members to ensure that they do all they can to not only maintain our security but also our quality of life. The Medicare and SS are what differentiates us from India and China. We cannot and should not give them the edge and quality of life is the place to begin. These numbers are negligible...it would cost more in accounting and administrative effort to shift budgets and count beans...the last storm in the NE will cost 10 times more...yet the republicans are hell bent on this concession from the dems...they are a puzzling bunch.
