Here's more of an indepth look at former George Bush's Council General Ted Olsen's coming into the frey of this same sex arena . Its by the most serediptitous route when by some quark of circumstance liberal Hollywood director & activist Rob Reiner was incredulous about someone even suggesting they should approach a conservative like Olsen but they did and to their amazement they found him seeing this as a constitutional issue of infringement & denial of civil rights.

Much to the chagrin of many former ultra conservative colleagues you could imagine, but he's that formidable & universally repected . His wife btw, was on the jet that went down and crashed into the Pentagon 9/11, he has no other family members that are gay like Dick Cheney or Newt Gingrich, and is approaching strictly as matter of changing times & modern constitutional interpretation, sans religious law.

His teamate in championing this David Boies is also equally as feared & respected , they were antagonists in the Bush v Gore suit but the best of friends in life. Ted possesses some 46 "quills" which is more than almost any other lawer in the US , they are only found on the desk assigned to you when appearing at the Supreme Court and none of the Justices take his opinions or ideas lightly.

* Love to hear what your friends from Gibson Dunn and Crutcher comments are of his character, looks like tough row with an extremely conservatively biased court, we shall see, they should be out with a decision by next june. Until then there's really more important things than this issue that should hopefully be behind us by next summer.
