Well, it is unfortunate. It is said that the same mistakes are repeated and the same lessons are learnt, by every generation!

In the late 60's, during the "Go, go" years, veterans who had lived long enough remembered that the "fun-filled" 20's eventually led to the depressing 30's, and therefore counseled caution. However, the "Go go" practitioners had not even been born during the 20's or 30's! So, the excesses kept building up until late '71 or so, when the thing came crashing down. This was followed by the Nifty Fifty fever which lasted another two years, before the whole goddamn thing just blew up!

And here we are, in the late 90's, during the Goldilocks years, and veterans who have lived long enough remember that the "fun-filled" 60's eventually led to the depressing 70's, and therefore are counseling caution. However, the "foolish" investors had not even been born during the 60's or 70's! And so, the excesses keep building up until... ????
