Re: Growth You said: for god's sake, they didn't lose money.. just didn't meet the estimate, that's all.. over all growth is still great Sorry I must be a little slow, can you elaborate on "over all growth is still great" for us please. You said: there are only 3 big players left: qntm, seg, and wdc I guess you must mean IBM and Maxtor are "little" players. PX first of all.. i didn't like your style of questioning.. but that's ok. my post was more of a self-reassurance of what i am doing. for over all growth, it's the comparison of revenue and profit growth of last year's compare to this year's. i don't need to post the numbers here.. you can look them up from any on-line service. big player is meant to be the ones with biggest market share, not capital-wise.. IBM is also a PC maker, a network maker, a mainframe maker, a mini-computer maker, a software maker(don't forget their OS/2), a PC peripheral maker, etc.. they are into everywhere. they are not small but they are not specialized in HD. it's the same case if you want to compare MSFT to TLC in the educational software industry. yes, MSFT is the biggest in software, but not a major factor in educational software. there is a sustain doomed feeling about HD makers now, but when i look back SUNW in april, they were like this too.. (well.. they are not doing much better now either), but later when things got cleared up, they shot up to mid 50's from upper 20's in the summer. i don't expect WDC will do the same. but overall, by the factors i pointed out in my last post, I PERSONALLY believe, you don't have to, that WDC will come back strong.
