Linda,

From the Lancaster New Era newspaper Dec 2, 1997. Large article on WLA since WLA plant is located in county. I quote " Warner Lambert, which has a major plant in Lititz, said Glaxo Wellcome overreacted. Warner Lambert added that it will keep selling the drug in the U.S.The FDA and Warner-Lambert first disclosed the concern about Rezulin on Nov.3, after getting 35 reports of liver failure that leg to one death and another person needing a liver transplant. The FDA asked for additional reports on adverse reactions to the drug. The agency has now received a total of 150 adverse event reports, including three deaths from liver failure linked to the drug in Japan. The FDA saying about 600,000 patients in the U.S. and 200,000 in Japan take Rezulin , assured patients that the benefits of taking the drug outweigh the risks. "
