"If Boehner wanted to craft a real legacy and pull the Reps out of the hole they are in, he would would work with O to do the same thing."

I don't see the man who first brush with notoriety was passing out $10k checks on the House floor to get a vote for the tobacco lobby as a man concerned with his "legacy"! I think Boner will be able to get enough votes from defectors who want to get reelected to join with (D)'s and pass a deal. Last time around, the (R) party wasn't as fragmented as it is now.

But I fear that B will end up fighting all the way so he can keep the loyalty of the TPers. What a shame.

He simply wants to continue as House Speaker. Nothing wrong with that. He is, however, less than imaginative in crafting ways to manage that ambition and couple it with serious national needs.
