His name was Harry Anslinger, his campaign was primarily directed at hemp , hence the tie-in so don't be such an idiot beyond being the usual obtuse pointy headed self . Anslinger worked for various military and police organizations around the world right up to being involved with the UN narcotics 1960's treaty which was so contrived by the newer powers that were, who feigned concern but sought power to interdict & control other emerging societies so be it (Use was common up to that time , recreationally & medicinally in certain cultures) If referencing him in every post as "FDR's Drug tzar " excites you fine , it means very little more importantly at issue was the use of methodical exclusive frenzied media sensationalism by controlled centralized entities to create law & sway public opinion but one does understand that at the time they didn't want sailors in war smoking the rope that they tied their big ships up with. Also the special big petro chemical & agricultural interests that were suspected at the time of influencing such a campaign.
