I wouldn't discount the factor that they were sick of a lot of Romney kept pushing... social agenda for the far right, no taxes on the rich, and all that. Let's face it... has there ever been a more "cobbled together" campaign than Romney's? He basically included every weirdo fringe person and opinion from the far right without any exclusions... even if he WASNT for that himself... he would let himself get defined by all this crap cause he didn't want to piss off the crazies.
