Well, the real reason why we give so much importance to what the analysts say is that we suspect they know something that we don't! True long-term investors who really understand the business couldn't care less what the analysts say! If their utterances cause short-term price swings, so be it! We just don't care! After all, we invest for the long haul, don't we? So, the question that we have to ask ourselves is -- how many of us "long-term investors" really understand this business?
