Ah. Stock Mogul within the ranks at last. God will either be pleased, or will be sending out angels to guard us all......smile. Smile Stock Mogul, I'm smiling.
Now, if the very capable and learned in the ways of Christ Jesus here will forgive me, I think we should talk.
First of all. Anti-Semitism. Among Christians such a statement borders on the ludicrous. Of all humans on earth the true followers of Jesus Christ can hardly find a human or moral flaw in anyone who is a genetic Jew anymore, and if one of us points out that there are many, many, many gross and horrible flaws now blanketing the planet which flow directly from the minds and pocketbooks of the Chosen People, we are nearly crucified for pointing out reality. Nearly called Nazi ourselves. I have experienced this firsthand. So, of all people who MAY be anti-semitic, go to them. This is not the place.
Now, as for "Anti-semitic." What about nearly all Jewish people who have any sort of orthodox faith being just a little "Anti-Chrisitan." I went to George Washington University, and some time ago, at that, and I had the wonderful experience of finding three totally Jewish guys who were also very, very wonderful to look at and smart and all the things that lead to you spending time with them in a totally fleshly period of life, and all I can remember of any of those few dating moments was endless and morbid harranging on their part about how their mother would die, their father would die, the whole family would die and jump off a cliff together if they had any idea this guy was even talking to gentiles. I learned yiddish in Washinton D. C., as almost every other person there seemed to be Jewish. I personally found most all Jewish people delightful and funny, but their constant references to shicktsas and goyem far exceeded anything I have ever found among my basically anglo universe.
As a matter of fact, your comment about Luther seemed to stir an absolute SWIRL of the memories of anti-Christian comments and loveable digs and little insults coming from Jewish people I have known and worked with of every nature for years and years and years. It was usually in love, but there was a time on the East Coast when I knew all of the yiddish slang slamming non-Jews.
Point? I believe going back 500 years to find one monk who finally revolted successfully against the horrors of the Romish Church who was not fond of a religion which totally and absolutely precluded the belief in Jesus Christ, has little bearing, as Steve says, on, say, Steve. What I would like to know is this. Do you have proof or even hints that Luther in anyway harmed, was cruel to, or stirred up other people to hate or harm the jews living around him at that time. That would be horrible to me. And I'm not sure Luther means anything to me anyway, as I know little about him. As you will readily notice in history, there is not the love for Luther there is for Francis, Bernard, Agustine, and other people who were truly "saints". Luther was an angry monk who finally took history in his hands, and broke away from a spiritual horror, in my estimation, and for that I wish he were alive today so he could lead and I could follow. But that's me.
So, that's also reality. There was a movie "Reality Bites" . I didn't see it, but more and more as the world goes mad I find I personally need to address it. And I am finding it hard coping with more and more dead elephants in the front room. You know, those family and social matters that we all just ignore and pretend are not there because it is difficult to bring the subject up and talk about it?
Like the whole country? Like everything on T.V. Like the next generation to inherit the earth, and unfortunatly we will be living on it with them? Like scientists, occultists, psychics, all the tabloids, and the Learning Channel all screaming that the world is coming to an end? Like 300 elephants left in Kenya.... something like that. Maybe its 300 tigers in India. Does it matter. OH YES, INDEED IT MATTERS.
And this will only get worse. It is off the topic, and an aside, but is it really? Anton Levey's famous quote about his worldwide religion:
At the altar of satan up is down, black is white, right is wrong, and pain is pleasure.
Well, get ready, because the altar of satan is about to be set up for the people of earth to worship before it, up front and in your face!
Now, I am glad you're here, and usually I'm light and silly, but by all means do stay and talk things out. Maybe a break from your usual hangouts will clear your mind and bring you some new thought patterns. I'm curious. What caused you to swoop in here with the Luther bomb? Kind of reminded me of a little Red Baron move there. But this is why I asked Shalom if we needed another thread to say things like this. Again, I apologize for speaking so boldly on a thread dedicated to discussing my Lord, but I believe you are important to Him also. And also, I hardly, hardly think you of all people on SI could be offended. After all, you thrive on offense and seem to love it, and this is meant not to offend but to discuss. |
