Reagan when Gov cut the funding closing most of the state mental hospitals & vetoed all federal funded mental health bills later when Pres (good for him) so there are alot more hapless people on the streets . He did cut taxes to spur the economy ( for the first year anyways ) but after taking 200 years to grow the national debt to $1 trillion, Reaganomics & Reagan took only 8yrs more to grow it to $3.5tril when leaving office. ( believe those are the correct figures, you may correct if you like , Reagan was also shot by a mentally ill person later.)
