:-) The little "P" character sits up in your menu bar, and is in fact a menu. Oh don't I know! I didn't get a chance to even order the prime rib, just a few drinks with an umlaut gal and boy did I need that character! Hope she didn't notice...

Doren and jeff Are you not familiar with Character Viewer? System preferences -> Language and Text -> Input Sources check Keyboard and Character Viewer and it pops up in the top menu bar. Maybe the App you are talking about is better? There are all kinds of symbols and geometric shapes and umlauts and accent graves and acutes and tildes and all kinds of weird things. And all the ones you like a whole bunch can go in your favorites which can be found under the symbol......wait for it.......drum roll.......a ?. Personally I use this ond a lot ?, especially around this time of the year. Here's your umlaut ö. I have no idea where it belongs. (And please don't tell me where to put it) Annie
