This website is liberal, but it's going to get harder after a Supreme Court ruling on June 25, 2012 to give lifetime sentences to minors. I believe minor cases should be persecuted on an individual basis, but some kids really are monsters.

They can be tried as adults and, if convicted, housed in a Juvenile facility until 18, at which time they can be transferred to Big Boy Prison.
