Ted, Thanks so much for that post, and RON if your out there
thanks for the honest answers (IMO) anyway. I think we
all have to agree the whole sector is weak and contracts
aren't rolling in anywhere!!!!!! I'm confident AGISS will bring
work. As for government contracts, they will be the last.
I know governments, i've worked for one for 20 years !!!
In the words of the BEAR, hold, buy, hold.

I REMAIN,
Long on CSGI. (Where is he anyway ?)

All: The following text was cut & pasted from an email I received from Ron Bishop, President of CSGI. It addresses some of the issues I commented on. Other than taking quite a bit of time to reformat the text into SI freeform format, it is exactly as I received it. No textual editing was done.

Thanks to Ron for taking the time to address these issues.

Ted, as I said in my earlier email to you, I want to clear up some items that apparently were not explained properly or clearly to you when you visited Consygen last week.

IN HOUSE TOOL
Our toolset was NEVER designed as anything but an in house tool. We have no plans whatsoever to sell or license the toolset. Our strategy is to perform the service (Corrections) in house at our facility. For the remote locations like Singapore, the source code will be loaded on the Sun system at the remote conversion center and we will direct the conversions through our Phoenix operations.

MVS
I am not sure how you got the impression that we are weak in MVS. Possibly because the demo which was given to you uses the BULL environment. But we definitely are NOT weak in MVS. We have done numerous MVS projects(CICS, IMS DB/DC, IDMS) including the 2 Motorola projects, one which was completed 8 days after we received all the code. NOTE: We are in the process of changing and updating our demo so that this misconception will not occur again. The demo represented an expansion solution which is not provided by many companies ... we also provide a comprehensive windows solution.

DATE CODE VERIFICATION
Your 70%/30% analogy is incorrect. I can see how you came up with your explanation, but it was not explained to you properly. After we have identified all the date origin candidates, we verify at least 95% of them in our facility without even talking to the client. Generally speaking, we have had to go to the client for less than 5% for the projects we have done thus far. I think if we are required to go to the client to verify less than 5% of the date origin candidate, then anyone else who does the project will also be required to go to the client for verification. 70% are automatically formatted. 25% are verified by Consygen through other means. And 5% or less must be verified as date codes by the client. NO ONE COULD DO THE 5% WITHOUT DISCUSSING WITH THE CLIENT.

FULLY AUTOMATED
I know you take exception to us using that term, but when we explain to the client that certain things must be done prior to the conversion process, we explain to them that once the conversion process starts, no further human intervention is required. Bottom line is we can make code compliant for the year 2000 very fast and accurate.

Ted, I sincerely thank you for taking the time to visit us here in Phoenix. Anytime you are in Phoenix, I invite you to call me for lunch and an update on how we are doing. I must add one additional item even though I cannot give you the who. A potential teaming partner was given a full blown demonstration and presentation (much more detailed than the one you had) and his comment before he left was "Wow, your toolset is really incredible".

Apparently, many people read your SI post because many have called me all concerned about your comments and ready to bail out.

Keep in touch,

Best Regards,
Ron Bishop
