I suppose there is a line somewhere between violating a person's human rights and protecting other people. Personally, I believe the violently insane should be confined where they can't hurt anybody. Taking my guns away because the government is unwilling to protect us from dangerous people is not going to solve a thing. People with mental disorders can't be expected to reliably take medications on their own and if violence is a problem, more is required than a bottle of pills for public safety.
