Yes, I make an image of my whole disk, all of the partitions, as I use and change them all in normal use. I make use of the archived copies using the image browser, I dont normally restore an old image to get at old data. In this way I have an easy compressed method of keeping old data, yet my PC is not choked up with old files rarely required in normal use. I have lots of files. I occasionally have to use my computer images to restore my PC after I have done something drastic like replace a drive or made some other significant hardware change. In those circumstances backed up images are a real blessing, and hopefully my oldest backup is never more then a month old. I can live with that. Re Acronis 2011. I found this report on the Acronis forum... forum.acronis.com excerpt (from post Wed, 2011-09-28 15:43) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your comment and sincere feedback. Rest assured it's been taken under consideration by the Management team. We're sincerely sorry for the inconvenience you've faced with support. I just wanted to add for future possible reference: All traces of the product (in case you're proceeding with the uninstallation) can be removed by the Acronis True Image Home 2011 Clean-Up Utility (it's free and doesn't require any additional payment). If still some traces remain, then the issue requires close investigation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It looks like the the guy (Foizu) fixed his own problem, but had a real tough time getting there. Not good support from Acronis. As said, I rarely upgrade anything until it has seen some good exposure in the field. When it comes to traps, its the second mouse that gets the cheese. I have Acronis 2010. Its not broken so I am in no hurry to fix it with an upgrade. -g-
