Pardon my interruption, but why do you say dividends are double taxed?

Get rid of the double-taxation on corporate dividends, then raise the tax on personal income from dividends to that of ordinary income.

So you are giving corporation a tax break and taxing individuals at (potentially) higher rates? Even though I see the potential for higher dividend payments I also see the negative effect on investments from the higher tax on individuals.

Are there studies that show estimates of the revenue consequences?

By the way an interesting tid bit...the average effective rate for all 275 fortune 500 companies dropped by a fifth, from 21.4 percent in 2001 to 17.2 percent in 2002-2003.
