There is now, and there will continue to be, easy access to firearms even if the legislation you suggest is enacted. And you don't have to be a "gun nut" to recognize that.

Yes, those are good ideas but psychotic people will continue to secure guns and occasionally slaughter people. I think a better return might be on legislation that was designed to identify and treat the sick mind that might be turning that direction.

Why not profile these people and make a better effort to let the public know what kind of bizarre behavior is just weird and what kind might be more dangerous, providing a hotline and backing that up with legislation that allows for involuntary institutionalization for 72 hours or so for a psychiatric evaluation?

Not that I'm not ready for that Sharia army. g. Ed
