Well, we just disagree. Your argument assumes some sort of zero sum amount of argumentative air over controversial measures--argue for gun control and you lose the bandwidth to argue over other things. I don't think that's the case, whatever your professional certifications are. We can as a somewhat famous president once said, in reverse, walk and chew gum at the same time. Let's address the risks associated with drunk driving, with too many and far too available guns, with spousal abuse, and so on, all at the same time. I wouldn't shut down concerns for any one of them.
