If the conventional NRA theories were true, the ubiquity of guns in the inner city would lead to less gang and other crime related homicides, not more. I agree with you. The conventional NRA theories are nuts. the laws and enforcement generally are not strong enough to deal with the oversupply of firearms and ammo through profitable black markets I agree with you again--and you effectively make Ed's point that I also agree with. Because we have a culture of guns, black markets will rise to meet demand. We have to end the culture of guns. But ending it won't be easy, and simply passing more restrictive gun laws without substantially changing it will not be effective.
