For people like myself who grew up with guns, they're not that scary.

If you are saying that those of us who wish to see more discussions of serious gun control did not grow up with guns and are thus "scared" of them, it's about as true as asserting we are "emotional" while those supporting no conversations are "rational."

I grew up, as I've typed here many times, in small town, rural central Texas. Lots of guns around, including in my family. I had guns as a kid. Spent a bit of time in the army. And so on. So ad hominem doesn't work here.

We simply disagree about political strategy. My position, stated enough times now, is that we should open up public conversations about gun control/gun safety. I gather you think the political dangers are too much.

No way to know save opening them up and seeing what happens.
