There is no question that the culture of subsidized living has grown. Nearly 50% of the population receives some sort of federal support payments. As that grows the demands for more government money will expand. The cultural stigma against welfare has been limited. The government needs to go back to printed food stamps so everyone can see what deadbeats are paying with. Welfare checks need to arrive in the mail rather than by direct deposit so they have to take them to the bank. As long as people are not embarrassed about being sponges the demands on those who pay into the system will continue to rise.
