Cruncher...summary of BC drilling in '97:

about 34,884 feet (ANZ release says 34,865, but what's a few feet between friends) of NQ, HQ, and BTW diamond drilling in 75 holes on 10 different zones. Drilling was a combination of ore body delineation, metallurgical testing and exploration drilling.

Ore body delineation drilling was principally carried out on the Finn (25 holes) and Bonanza (18 holes) on which metallurgical holes (2 holes) were also drilled.

Exploration drilling was also carried out on the JC Zone (1 hole), EOS
Zone (6 holes), MVT Zone (3 holes), Crown Zone (2 holes), Creek Zone (8 holes), Thesis Zone (7 holes) and the Eric Zone (1 hole).

I believe we are waiting for results on about 60 holes and they are supposed to be out shortly (note that "shortly" as defined in the mining co. dictionary = sometime in the next few months). :-)

As today's release tells us, a major research project is underway to integrate all known data for Toodoggone (including data from previous operators). Must be a horrendous job as Junaidi has indicated.

Clearly they are trying to get a resource estimate. Judging by today's market reaction, we might all be happier to get one after Dec. anyways.

Thanks for the recommendation to visit Freeport's home page to gather info on Indonesian mines for the website I am planning to put up. I will do just that.

Regards,
Wayne
