Exactly. Actually, I like the happiness measures. The Ben & Jerry's founders institutionalized that in their performance metrics at one point. I though it was brilliant. Koan and I agree on that. Money doesn't buy happiness. However, I also believe that printing and borrowing money to buy happiness leads to far more depression and despair in the future than living within our means. We need to get real and start realizing that endless growth is not a mathematical possibility, unless we want to destroy this planet. Desiring endless growth and measuring ourselves primarily using GDP drives very greedy and aberrant behavior that is simply not sustainable.
