The most recent case involved someone very smart from a family of presumably smart people - even GE executives are pro'lly above average in intelligence. The Aurora CO guy had been a PhD candidate.

There is an unfortunate correlation between these nutters and intelligence. Someone dumb as dirt probably doesn't have the "executive function" parts of the brain working very well and couldn't make detailed plans.

One can be crazy as sh!t and still come up with some horrible plans. I was discussing this with a former boss and friend on Sunday during coffee. I point to a bush 75 feet away (looking around to see that no one is listening) - "That is poisonous - not just a 'little poisonous' but A LOT poisonous."

We are at a coffee bar - I don't need to elaborate.
