<Hey, nothing has stopped you from paying higher taxes before.>

I DID pay higher taxes before.... I paid something like 70% on my first million.

<When you file your 2012 returns, just reduce your amount of legitimate deductions by 30%.>

Read previous post...I don't save receipts or anything... at this point everything is just interest and capital gains... I just pay. My wife does the taxes, I couldn't be bothered... she DID deduct the kids and herself and all that... and filed joint... I think that "saves money". LOL

<Why haven't you been doing this already?>

Read my other posts... my accountants take care of everything but I pay WAY MORE taxes than a person who is "aggressive" with their accounting. I don't even have a mortgage... I pay cash when I move.

Nordic countries DO have larger safety nets... but I never point there and say "we should be like that"... I might point there and say "their system works for them... why are you dissing them?"

In fact, when I lived and worked in Germany I always had to point out to Germans {that boasted about how they had no "poor people with their system" compared to the US} that the US was a very mixed society which was really partly "third world".

I think you guyz just can't imagine THAT THIS IS NOT A BIG DEAL for a lot of people.... but it IS for others.... so?
