If he had been more aggressive, he still could have won, but they all roll over and play dead.

Poppycock:

Here were a few obvious of Mitt's problems... which may not have all been his, but he refused to distance himself from them and the wacko element of the far right (not in order of importance):

1.) Abortion (and the unwillingess to talk about it... and an exception for rape and incest).
2.) Personal Finance: Caymen Island/ Tax rates.... I worked on WS and can't believe he was so naive as to think it was just fine to run for president with money in the Caymens... well known tax haven. just stupid... all the other republican candidates new it but couldn't defeat him.
3.) His job as a vulture capitalist.... nothing wrong with it... but didn't play in Peoria.
4.) Past: Incredible the video out there of him stating the EXACT OPPOSITE things on important issues... you can say what you want... but this is an age old ploy to show this stuff... freakin Nixon and Humphrey used it... he looked like a freakin idiot claiming emphatically to be on thing and them with the same zeal claiming the opposite... you just can't do that.
5.) Even republicans new he was unelectable... they stated it early on, and he was attacked by his own party in the primaries in a very systematic and rational way... no doubt because they assumed what I'm saying AND SAID AT THE TIME... "this is ridiculous... cant you see what an un-electable loser this guys is??"
6.) Inability to distance himself form the fringe: He kept preaching to the choir instead of the congregation! He should have immediatedly distanced himself form any number of wacko's the gaffed their own candadicies into democratic hands. He remained silent on even outrageous issues.
7) Immigration: "Self Deportation"... enough said, doesn't matter what you think.... stupid ass statement.
8.) I'm sure I'm missing plenty.

IN FACT... Romney's loss to Obama in the worst economic times since the depression is profound. It has little to do with Obama and EVERYTHING to do with the republican party.

I predict that those calling for "re-invention" of the republican party (much to the chagrin of the blind wingnutz) ARE NOT GOING FAR ENOUGH.... and won't be able to bring themselves to before the next election. If things keep going like they are Republican losses will accelerate in the mid-term election and lead to Democratic domination in 2016. This is assuming Republicans don't move quickly away from the wacked out faction toward the center.
