On the city and state level it HAS been the democrats that have screwed things up. The democrats have associated themselves with the unions and the unions have had carte blanche. I live in a democrat city and they have kept their negotiations with the unions SECRET. It's MY tax money but I'm not allowed to know what they're giving the union workers. That's CRAP.... On the National level it's BOTH parties sucking up to the unions. It doesn't help that congress keeps jacking up their own pay and benefits every chance they get. Government pay should be based on the MEDIAN income of their constituents. If that were the case you can bet that government workers would be working a LOT harder to get better pay and jobs for the people that elect them.
