SPD cleats can walked on. The other racer boy cleats, no.

Be good to your cleats because replacing them is a bitch if you walked on them too much and flattened out the screw heads enough to make getting the old screws out an exercise in agony. Lesson learned. Hint - I had to put the last stubborn screw under hot water for a while before it would let go. Sounds like you had it easy. I replaced mine yesterday. There was no chance of any of the screws turning with a screwdriver. I tried to drill one out, but they use some very good steel for the screws. 10 min with a new titanium bit and not enough to get it out. I finally took the Sawzall to the metal plates! Almost 2 hours to replace the cleats.
