To: Brumar89 who wrote (689225 ) 12/21/2012 12:57:54 PM From: THE WATSONYOUTH Respond to of 1573959 The recordings begin at 9:35 a.m. with a dispatcher calmly reporting a 911 call about “somebody shooting in the building,” followed two minutes later by the chilling update that a caller was “continuing to hear what he believes to be gunfire.” The first scanner activity was at about 9:36 a.m., when officers first arrived at the school. They found broken glass by the front door -- officials now say Lanza broke a window to get past the locked front door. I will AGAIN state that this time line MUST be verified. I had read somewhere that the first 911 call came immediately ( I would hope so) after the shooter shot out the door window to gain entrance. What was the exact time of that call? At 9:35AM, the dispatcher put out a dispatch reporting a shooting. Supposedly, the police arrived at 9:36???......one minute later?...........doubtful at best. If true, had the shooting stopped by 9:36 when the police supposedly arrived?? If not......why was the building not IMMEDIATELY stormed? Let's assume the time line is correct........and make some reasonable assumptions. The shooter shoots in the door window at 9:33AM. Within one minute, at 9:34AM, a 911 call is phoned in ......hopefully describing a GRAVE situation............by 9:35AM, the dispatcher (calmly??) reports a shooting in the building. The police arrive one minute later at 9:36AM. If true, the entire incident ........all the shootings occurred in about 4 minutes...... Certainly possible......but if true , it proves beyond a doubt that an on site armed response is the ONLY way that could have changed the outcome. I maintain that a 4 minute response is probably faster than most could possibly expect. Now, it was reported that the shooter killed himself upon hearing (sirens?) of the police arriving. I assume some of the other teachers in the building could verify that. So had the police not arrived in 4 minutes of the door being shot in, he could have continued killing......had he chose to. So......think about a 6, 8, or 10 minute response? The only answer is an armed presence in the school itself. It could be accomplished with a well thought out program of armed administrators/teachers or by putting armed guards in all schools.....on a neutral cost basis by FIRING a high paid do nothing administrator and hiring 2 lower paid armed guards (retired police or military veterans come to mind)
