President Bush should have used the veto to good effect. His failures are the result of trying to please the left. They can't be pleased unless they have the power. He should have known that.

President Bush was a great foreign policy President but a terrible fiscal manager. You have made a great point. To a great extent President Bush probably did allow so much spending in an attempt to curry favor. Such a strategy has proven to be unsuccessful simply based on the fact he was a member of the party that the leftist media is at war with.
