Agree that it must happen but unfortunately it will take a crisis to make it happen. The special interests control Washington. Few Democrats are ready for entitlement reform and few Republicans are ready for defense cuts. I believe the crisis will be gradual - driven by downgrades of the US credit rating with progressively increasing interest rates over time.
