The car companies and the banks should have been left to fail.

Markets are far more efficient than government. When government intervenes in the market the important lessons that need to be learned are left unlearned. One needs look no further than the money GM lost on the Volt due to continuing to build a vehicle loved by government and hated by consumers.

If they had just let the banks and car companies fail the 1930's would have looked GOOD compared to what we would have today.

Unemployment would be 50% minimum.

Pensions would be worthless.

The entire world would be like Germany when it took a wheelbarrow full of marks to buy a loaf of bread.
